Queen Victoria, the Queen of Canada until 1901, is most recognized from images in which she wore formal mourning attire during the latter part of her reign.
When her beloved Prince Albert died,  leaving her a widow for 40 years, the theme colour of her wardrobe became black.
She often wore her contrasting white wedding veil,  in remembrance of her husband,  together with her crown.
